Josh's B-Day

It was Josh's B-day on September 1st which was also Labor Day which means that we had the day off of work...YEA. Since our birthdays are only about a week apart, we celebrated both our birthdays with Josh's family on Labor Day. We went over to Mom and Dad Riewerts house on Sunday night and spent all night playing Rock Band which Eric brought over. That game is awesome. We played for hours until we decided that we should probably go to bed since we were getting up early to go hiking in the morning. Got up that morning and headed out to the Rocky Mountain National Park. We went on a beautiful hike and then went back into Estes Park to have a picnic. When we got back to Mom and Dad's we had dinner later that night and celebrated our birthday's. We had so much fun being able to spend the whole day and celebrate with our family.

Camping with friends

So a couple weekends ago we decided to take a last minute camping trip with our friends Casey and Christa. Luckily we still had a lot in the explorer from the last camping trip because we never cleaned it out so we just got all of our things together Friday after work. Casey and Josh both happened to have the day off early so they went up and found our camping spot and set up camp and then Christa and I met up with them later that night in Estes Park. It was a nice relaxing fun weekend with friends. Too bad it's getting cold and camping season is just about over now.

White Water Rafting

So I haven't been updating this thing very much the last few weeks even though a lot has been going on. A few weeks ago my mom and stepdad Sherman came for a visit here in Colorado to get away from the heat of Arizona. Josh and I both had to work a few of the days they were here so they were off house hunting because they love it here so much that they are considering moving here within the next few years. The best part about the trip was that we went down to Canon City which is by Colorado Springs to go on a White Water Rafting trip. We had all never been before so we took the easy route but we still had a blast doing it. I can't wait for next summer to go again and maybe try some even bigger rapids.

Breckenridge in the Summer!

So instead of having another boring weekend of just sitting by the pool, Josh and I decided that it would be interesting to visit our favorite snowboarding spot in the summertime. We drove up to Breck and hung out there for a couple of hours until it started raining so we decided to go home. We ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co because I have been dying to eat at the one in Denver but we never seem to make it there. The food was so amazing. It is such a beautiful place in both the winter and summertime.

These signs are how you get the waiters attention.

I actually paid some homeless guy 2 bucks after he took these pics.

Rockies Game

So last week we went to the Rockies game in Denver with Josh's fam thanks to Eric who had extra tickets to the game against the Dodgers. We all had a great time....too bad they got absolutely slaughtered in the 1st inning.

Hiking in Boulder

So Josh got this good idea to go on a hike after work last week in Boulder. We went to this place called Mount Sanitas that he heard about from some people at his work. I get off work and speed over to Boulder. Once we get going I realize that it seems like this hike is never going to end. We are literally hiking up the whole mountain and I'm about to pass out and die from the altitude and the fact that I never drink any water. But we finally made it to the top and rested for a few minutes. Then we realized that we were losing some daylight and needed to head back down. We start going down a different trail and got lost on the backside of some mountain. Luckily we were able to find our way back to the car just before the sun went down.

Camping

So a few weeks ago we went camping with Mom and Dad Riewerts. I have been waiting to go camping since we moved to Colorado. It was so nice to be able to get away. Since the mountains are right next next to us, it only took about 45 minutes to get to the camping spot. On Saturday Josh, Dad and I all went fishing. After about 4-5 hours of it, only one fish was caught. I ended up making a sand castle and making friends with a chipmunk who had some of my hot dog bait for lunch. It was such a fun weekend to just enjoy relaxing and spending time with the fam.
