Lexi's B Day

So last weekend, Josh's bro and sister in law came into town from AZ so we could all celebrate Lexi's 1st birthday. Josh and I spent the night at Mom and Dad Riewerts on Friday night so we wouldn't have to drive back to Longmont on Saturday morning for the party. So Mom went all out and decorated the party full of balloons and princess everything for the birthday girl. We had a fun time hanging out with the fam and getting to play with two of our adorable nieces.

For everyone in AZ, this is real Colorado grass. You can actually sit in it.

Memorial Day Weekend

Being Memorial Day this last weekend, we thought we would enjoy the 3 day weekend and get out and enjoy beautiful Colorado. On Saturday Josh and I decided to go down to the 16th street mall which is right in the middle of downtown Denver. It's an outdoor mall like most malls here in Colorado are with tons of restaurants and shops everywhere. It also comes with all the hippies and street performers too so that's always fun to watch. Saturday night we hung out with Casey and Christa and went Goofy Golfing (which by the way, people here in CO don't call it that so they have no idea what i'm talking about). Sunday we went to a BBQ with a few people from my work. We got up at the buttcrack of dawn on Monday and drove to Mom and Dad Riewerts house in Longmont so we could all go on a little hike that day. The only problem is that it was raining, but we decided to go anyways. We went up to this place called Camp Dick (not a joke) so we could bring the dog with us. It wasn't too hard of a hike thank goodness cause I never would have made it in this altitude if it was. It was raining the whole time but I actually didn't mind it. I think I am getting used to that kind of thing here. There was actually still a few patches of snow here and there also. I swear that stuff never fully melts up in the mountains. Everything was great on the hike except for when I fell in the freezing cold river at the very end. I didn't make the smartest move on trying to cross rocks when it had been raining all day. That was basically our fun weekend!
